Making a Daily Planner From Scratch| DIY on a Dime

I’m loving my daily planner this year! I made it myself out of an old folder, gift bag, and my weekly outline and Hours Log printouts. I pasted my tentative schedule on the inside cover.

On the left is our schedule. On the right, hours log

You can download them for free in my planner pages packet here:

It’s glue-bound like a regular notebook. So far I’ve used it for a couple of weeks without any issues. I made it big enough for half the school year. I think if it holds up well, I will make another for the rest of the school year.

The Binding Process

I placed a divider page (for binders usually) in between my weekly outline set and my hours log. I fill each of these sections as I go. My complete list goes on the hours log and then I end up compiling it by subjects on my weekly outline. It’s helping me to see where our gaps are, where “homework” should come in, and how to adjust for the next week.

I used the same gift bag material to fill the label spot

This gift bag was perfect. I was even able to use the top and some velcro to make a closure.

I Taught Myself How to Bind it, & You Can Too

I basically followed these directions, altering as needed to keep my pockets on the covers:
